Auchi Polyâ€™ll soon become degree awarding

President of Auchi Polytechnic Alumina Association, Mr. Victor Okhaimo, has said the Polytechnic would soon become a degree awarding institution, disclosing that a bill to covert to full fledge university has passed third ready in both Houses of the National Assembly.

Saying that the bill was awaiting President Muhammadu Buhariâ€™s assent, Okhaimo said the Polytechnic which is in the categories of first-class polytechnics in the country, would become a University of Technology.

He said the Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State would soon mark its 36 years anniversary, adding that the institution has three campuses with good infrastructures to assume the status of a University.

According to him, the association under his leadership was contributing its quota to the development of the institution, saying that the association was reaching out to old students with the financial wherewithal to assist in the growth of the Polytechnic.

He said the Association was collaborating with the Forum of Nigeria Polytechnic Alumina Association, FONPA, saying â€œwe are playing a lot of roles to see that the HND/Bsc dichotomy is wiped out.â€
