Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State on Tuesday set up a 15-man committee to negotiate the N30,000 minimum wage and the consequential adjustments.
The state Deputy Governor, Dr Manassah Jatau, is to serve as the chairman of the negotiation committee.
A memo issued by the state’s Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Bappayo Yahaya, indicated that the committee was mandated to look into the possibility of the implementation of the N30,000 minimum wage “as it affects the core civil servants and others in the state.â€
 It is also to determine the consequential adjustments for core civil servants at Grade Level 07 to17 and others.
Members of the committee include the Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs; Alhaji Ibrahim Jalo; his Finance counterpart, Mohammed Magaji; Special Adviser to the Governor on Budget, Planning and Development Partners Coordination, Dr Ishiaku Mohammed; Director General, Bureau of Public Service Reform, Yusuf Kaltungo; and the state’s Solicitor-General, Zainab Rasheed.
Others are the state Auditor-General, Muhammad Buba; Auditor General for Local Government, Aliyu Mele; Permanent Secretary, Establishment and Service Matters Department, Mohammed Jibril; and the state’s Accountant-General, Umar Bello.
